Norah O'Donnell: ACORN Video 'Might Be Viewed As Entrapment'

We used to count on ABC "World News" to report the news to us.

Now with a week old news story, the lead anchor on ABC World News, Charles Gibson, is clueless about anything to do with this story.

We used to count on NBC News to report the news to us.

Now NBC's Norah O'Donnell, NOT taking the side of the angels, wondered if the ACORN employees were entrapped.

NORAH O'DONNELL: I think it should be noted to be fair, though, that this might be viewed as entrapment. That some conservative activists used hidden cameras to get this stuff on camera.

    . . .

JOE SCARBOROUGH: They can talk about entrapment all they want. Three different offices: Baltimore, Washington, New York, specifically Mika, were giving these people advice, telling them how to break laws, how to lie to the IRS, how to set up prostitution rings. I mean, I don't know that that's entrapment.

    MIKA BRZEZINSKI: I don't think that's entrapment!

We used to hire local police, state police and the FBI to find tax cheats, prostitutes and worst of all -- premeditated murderers.

Now we interview them for jobs doing outsourced jobs for the government.

Besides admitting to hiding $15,000 per week in earnings as a prostitution "madam" from the IRS, this ACORN representative admits to abusing the abused women's shelters to establish a "battered wife" defense to the cold blooded murder of her husband.

"I shot him, I shot him.

Then I just picked up the gun and said f*ck you. And I shot him. And he died. Right there.

And... before that I had done, laid some groundwork. I went to the domestic violent center and I pleaded my case with them.

So everybody in town was knowing that this was happening."

-- Tresa Kaelke, ACORN Employee, San Bernadino, CA.

Just to be sure that her husband was not indeed a merciless batterer of a poor defenseless little woman, she also threatens on this undercover tape to murder another just for talking about her illegal prostitution ring from obviously better days for her.

"As soon as you leave, I'm going over there to talk to both of them [Jim Miller] and threaten them with their lives, because I can kill people. I don't have a problem with that, Okay? By the time I'm finished with him, he will think this never happened. I'm the one that did my husband.

I talk to Congressmen, Senators, Assembly people, every day."

-- Tresa Kaelke, ACORN Employee, San Bernadino, CA.

If I was on a murder case, knowing that the wife had threatened the life of another for far less, perhaps I would question her testimony about the brutality of her husband.

But hey! I understand that you can murder a spouse in cold blood in the State of California and get away with it!
