About DOE

Wind Power is not going to solve America's energy needs, but in the Pickens Plan, of T. Boone Pickens, there is a telling quote:
In 1970, we imported 24% of our oil. Today it's nearly 70% and growing.
In 1973, when our oil dependency was only 1 barrel imported out of 4, we had a oil crisis that the government PROMISED us they would fix with a Department of Energy. If only we created another bureaucratic office, all our energy needs would go away. Vanish in thin air!

On October 1, 1977, the Department of Energy bear had been unleashed to viciously attack our energy dependence. -- And it immediately went into hibernation. I dare anyone tell me of what value this entire department has been.

It is not that they do not understand their reason for existence. This is a current web page direct from the DOE's own web server:
The Department of Energy's overarching mission is to advance the national, economic, and energy security of the United States
Last year, the DOE turned 30-years-old and it is still living at home with mom -- almost as dependant as a new-born baby. America has less economic and energy security today than the day the DOE opened its doors. It's even worst. -- Today, we are three times as dependant as when the DOE was created to make us energy independent.

Many Jewish media-Scribes are telling us that if we start drilling today, we will not see that oil for another 10-years. We might as well just give up and go back to the stone age.

But turn their question around and ask yourself, "If it takes 10-years to bring oil on-line, then where were our central planners at the DOE 10-years ago?"

If Boone Pickens was right, the writing was on the wall for any energy expert to see. Oil supplies had peaked years ago and was declining. At the same time, oil demand was pushing upward with China and India consuming ever greater volumes. Meanwhile, the stability of the Middle East had been in turmoil for some time. Simple supply and demand economics 101. Everyone saw this coming. But, isn't that job what central planners at the DOE were supposed to be on top of? I think they get an "F" and should be fired. Don't you?

"But hey, I called up the DOE and they told me they are not the only federal officials who are totally useless. Remember that Federal Reserve that was going to stabilize the up and downs of the business cycle? Remember that the Federal Reserve was going to make America monetarily secure? But look at them -- Lehman Brothers, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, AIG, all insolvent. They should have foreseen and taken action on the savings and loan debacle of the 1980's, the profitless, if not fraudulent, Internet bubble companies of the 1990's, and the sub-prime mortgage crisis of the 2000's. These problems were all known and allowed to develop by the Fed until they crashed. So, get off our backs, will you man!!!"

"And that Department of Homeland Security that you think will make you safe in your home -- Forget it!! I would hang onto those guns they are trying to pry out of your hands, assuring you that they are just a 911 call away to save the day!" Ask Hurricane Katrina survivors what happens when the government tells you, "We are here to help you".

These are examples to show us and to remind us that Communist-styled central planning, complete with their five-year plans do not work. Sure, President Kennedy had a centrally planned 10-year plan to put a man on the moon. That was the only centrally planned government plan that ever worked, if you judge the project solely on the fact that the goal was indeed reached. However, we stopped putting men on the moon and the moon just sits there, still of no value whatsoever to us other than for us to stare up at it, as all men have been able to do from the start of time. But central planning from the Fed or central planning and control of say, our retirement in the Social In-Security system, all eventually blow up in our faces, if they ever work in the first place.

The DOE is the perfect example of the failure of central planning.

No, the real solution to America's energy problems are to"

  • 1) Shutter up the offices of the DOE.
    and
  • 2) Get completely out of the way of American Entrepreneurs"
